Tan Tones & Cosy Cardigans

I’m secretly happy that it’s freezing outside because it means I can finally get cardigans, blazers and coats out again! I have a whole wardrobe full of them and it’s so exciting to finally be able to layer up and get the fluffy socks out again. Guaranteed I’ll enjoy cold weather for all of 5 minutes before I end up wanting summer sun back, and it’s very likely some kinda SAD will start phasing in before I know it.

On the topic of winter weather and layering, I’ve been buying a few staples recently to get my seasonal wardrobe up to scratch, and I definitely had a few gaps that needed filling, one being my non-existent collection of cardigans.

I was desperate for a cosy cardigan that was either cream, beige, pale pink or neutral so it would go with everything, and I found the softest one ever in New Look. It wasn’t very expensive, and I loved the contrast black buttons – it’s one of those items that you can wear with practically any outfit. I often keep it with me at work in case I need an extra layer, but my favourite way to wear it is with some jeans and ankle boots.

On the topic of jeans, I finally bought myself some Joni jeans for the first time in about 3 years!! I was trying to find the perfect ‘jegging’ style jeans for a while and to find skinny ones that are soft and also high-waisted was a bit of a mission, but you know Joni jeans will always pull through. The issue most people have with them is that they fade quickly so I’m going to try some special black washing liquid with them to see if they survive the season at least.

Nothing beats warm tones to go alongside my now very pale skin, and I love the shape and style of this Wallis camisole top. I actually own it in cream and pink already but the tan/brown colour was an adorable addition to my workwear wardrobe. If anyone is looking for simple work tops then you NEED to check these ones out at Wallis, a lot of them are on sale now too!

To match the tan top I’ve worn some lush new Carvela ankle boots from Shoeaholics. They’re the comfiest things ever and although I’ve never been that partial to a brown boot, these ones have definitely converted me!

I did try a brown bag with this outfit but it was almost ‘too tan’ – so I had to go with black. This croc beauty is another new addition from Shoeaholics and it’s probably the bag I’ve had the most compliments on ever. It feels so ‘business’ when I take it to work!

Let me know what you think of the outfit and the combo of items! I L O V E layering so much and when it’s a little cooler I’d definitely wear a cream coat or something with this look.
