Swindon Designer Outlet – Christmas Party Outfit 1

With the festive spirit finally settling in now we’re actually in December, is anyone else panicking that their office Christmas party is literally like next week?! Half of you will be reading this post like “yep, bought my outfit already and got the perfect shoes, earrings and bag to match” and the other half will be like “crap, what. am. I. going. to. wear.”

Usually I’d be the latter, however on a recent trip to the Swindon Designer Outlet (which is looking SO pretty with all the decorations now) I was lucky enough to pick out some Christmas party outfits to wear, and to share with you! The first is more of an alternate outfit and steers towards those who prefer a trouser/top combo rather than a dress.

What do we think?!

Sometimes I love the idea of a smart trouser and top instead of going for a classic dress. I often am one of those people that feels more comfortable in trousers, and these wide leg beauties are easy to throw on with any blouse or smart top. Spot the sheer detail?! They have a mini black short inside and the rest of the leg is a little see-through to add a sexy touch, and you may also notice a satin strip down the side.

I spotted these trousers in French Connection at the Designer Outlet and they were £59 reduced down from £90 – which is such a good saving! They are fab quality and I knew I’d be able to create a lush little party outfit with them as the starter piece.

I did see some smart work-style trousers and also a few pairs of faux-leather trousers that also could’ve worked, but I’m so glad I picked these!

All I needed to do was find the perfect top to go with the trousers…

…and in comes this C U T E red velvet top from Guess. I was in awe as soon as I saw it, and even though they had it in black (I was thinking of going #allblackeverything) I decided to add some festive colour. Velvet is totally in this season and you’ll be seeing it everywhere so why not add it to your party look?!

I loved the high neck – especially with the short hairdo – and the peplum detail sits so nicely with the trousers. Guess really nailed this little beauty and it was an amazing £35 discounted from £59 (saving 40%!!).

To add to the suave, sexy and semi-sophisticated outfit comes a very sassy pair of shoes to go alongside. I knew I wanted some heels but I know I’m not the kinda girl to wear 10 inch heels all night at a Christmas party… I found these patent pointed-toe kitten heels at Dune which were originally £70, discounted to £28, and then discounted again to £21! The service in store was so lovely and the additional reduction in price was an added bonus. Plus, they are so comfy and I could wear them all day!

Accessories time! You can’t have a Christmas party without the perfect bag or jewellery…

First comes the bag, and the Swindon Designer Outlet have the most amazing Kurt Geiger outlet store (I’d happily own EVERYTHING). I had my eye on this particular bag a couple of weeks ago, and had to have it as part of my Christmas outfit. Just look at the chain, stud and sequin detail! It retails at nearly £70 and I nabbed it for a cheeky £39.50 – which is almost 50% off. I know this is the kinda bag I’ll use again and again for occasions and parties too!

And finally… the jewellery. Luckily I didn’t have to fuss too much with jewellery as I had the high neck and a relatively glitzy bag. I did, however, pick up some adorable gold ring-style earrings from Accessorize (in Monsoon) for THREE LITTLE POUNDS. What a buy! They’re really good quality too and to be honest I’d probably get extra use out of them for work and everyday wear.

What do you think of the outfit?! Are you a dress wearer, or more of a trousers/top girl like me? I had an amazing time at the Swindon Designer Outlet having a little shop around and finding some party outfits – there’s a highlight on my Instagram story of what I got up to on the day if you fancy a look! Stay tuned next week for a second outfit which maaaay well suit the dress lovers…

Drop me a comment if you want to know anything else about my outfit and where I got the items!
