Yep, for this one we’re rewinding over 1000 years to the Victorian times because I am OBSESSED with pretty collar shirts. There’s something so feminine about them and also so autumnal about them too. Maybe it’s because I’m picturing long sleeve shirts with trousers or long sleeve dresses with tights and ankle boots – who knows!
I recently found the most adorable collar shirt in Topshop and it was mine instantly. They had it up on a mannequin so I did that weird hunt around the store to find it only to realise it was literally NEXT to the mannequin. The shirt is blue and striped and the collar is just beautiful!
Aren’t the sleeves cute too? I decided to style it mega casual with some mom jeans from Hollister – which by the way are an absolute bargain at £39. I always thought Hollister clothes were super expensive and a pair of jeans would set me back around £80! These jeans are a new favourite of mine and go so well with the shirt.
I’ve gone for monochrome accessories with a black belt (from ASOS) and an old Marks and Spencer cross-body bag. The shoes are also from Topshop and I’ve worn them to death this year! They’re studded and have croc detailing and I remember being so happy when I found them in the sale.
In the autumn/winter I can definitely see myself styling this shirt with a jumper over the top and pulling the collar over – still with jeans or maybe midi skirts and boots!
I thought I’d round up the best of the collar shirts on the high street for you. Some of these are absolute gems and I want them all to myself to be honest… Scroll through to have a look!
Let me know if you find a piece you like!
